History: walter hartwell white is a high school chemistry teacher who has just turned fifty years old. he has a teenaged son, walter jr., who has cerebral palsy and attends the high school at which he teaches. his wife, skyler, is pregnant with an unplanned second child. he works part-time at a local car wash just to make ends meet, and lives a relatively boring and average middle-class american life. that is, until he passes out at the car wash one day and is subsequently diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. walter is mostly unbothered by the idea of his own mortality. what concerns him the most is the idea of him dying with barely any money to his name, leaving his wife to raise two children on her own without the funds necessary to do so.
during a surprise birthday party for walter, he ends up watching a news clip on television detailing a recent drug bust that his dea-employed brother-in-law, hank, took part in. he takes particular interest in the stacks of money pictured on the screen, which the dea confiscated. when hank tells walter that it's a relatively small bust, the gears begin turning in his head. walter, being a genius when it comes to chemistry, knows that he could easily synthesize methamphetamine with his knowledge. he asks hank if he might be allowed to go on a ride-along with him, with the intention of gathering more information about how these meth labs are set up.
during the ride along, walter remains in the safety of the police vehicle while hank and his partner go into the lab along with a small swat team to arrest the drug manufacturers and secure the scene for processing. while the bust is going down, walter watches his former high school student, jesse pinkman, emerge from the upstairs window of the house obviously just having 'gotten lucky'. the way that jesse sneaks away and gestures for walt to stay quiet, shows that he should have been arrested in the bust, too, but just happened to be upstairs at the time, therefore able to escape unnoticed.
walter uses information from school in order to track down jesse's address, finding him and blackmaiing him into becoming his meth-cooking partner when he tells him that if he refuses he'll be ratted out to the dea. of course jesse obliges, and the two begin working together.
as for the specifics on the canon-point, jesse is broke due to the dea confiscating his duffel bag of cash after it was found at the scene where hank shot and killed tuco, walt and jesse's latest business contact. this is following the two being kidnapped by tuco and brought to his uncle hector salamanca's house, where they wait for tuco's cousins to arrive who are planning to bring walt and jesse (involuntarily) to mexico as math cooks for the cartel so that tuco can continue his business wihtout being interuppted by american authorities. tuco previously killed one of his associates, beating him to death after he said the wrong thing during a business transaction with walt and jesse. one police find the body, the authorities begin their seach for tuco.
walt and jesse escape after hank shows up in search of jesse, having located his car via lo-jack tracking device, and shoots tuco. having been gone for days, walt devises a plan to wander into a local supermarket naked and pretending to be confused and unaware of his whereabouts during the time he was considered missing by friends and family. concerned, his family keeps a watchful eye on walt once he returns home, which means he can't get away with staying out with jesse in order to cook meth and conduct business deals.
jesse confronts walt, telling him that he needs money to be able to afford bills and the cost of living, having been rendered broke by the dea taking all of his money (it was found in his car, abandoned at hector salamanca's house. walter gives jesse a mere six hundred dollars, refusing to split his half of the money with jesse and saying that he shouldn't have to suffer from jesse's recklesness. in the meantime, while jesse was away, his parents discovered the meth lab set up in the basement of his house (previously inhabited by his aunt ginny, and currently under ownershio of his parnts). armed with photographic evidence and a lawyer, jesse's parents give him three days to move out of his house in fear that his illegal activity will cause his parents to lose the house entirely if it ends up seized by the authorities should he be caught by the law.
skuler grows increasingly cold with walt as he tries to over-compensate for his disappearance by cooking lavish breakfasts for his family and 'love-bombing' skyler. she reacts by going out frequently without telling walt where she's going in an attmept to give him a taste of his own medicine. after running out of options of places to stay for even the night, jesse attempt to contact walter, but walter continually ignores his phone calls or hangs up on him, growing increasingly frustrated at jesse for interrupting his attempts to hold his family together and regain the trust of his wife.
jesse ends up breaking into the junkyard where their makeshift meth lab is being stored inside of a recreational vehicle. upon using a portajohn to climb onto after scaling the fence, jesse falls in through the portapotty roof and ends up covered in human waste and stained blue by the dyed solution inside of the portable toilet. he ends up crying himself to sleep wearing a gas mask inside of the rv, wiht nowhere else to go for the night. (this is the canon-point of the in-game jesse pinkman).
jesse ends up repossessing the rv and driving it through the gate of the junkyard. with nowhere else to park it, he ends up leaving the vehicle on the road beside walter and skyler's driveway. walt notices it partked there while chasing skyler out of the house to her car, where she leaves on another one of her vangeful outtings. infuriated, walt burst into the rv and berates jesse, taking out his anger about his family and skyler on jesse, calling him stupid and notheing but a pathetic junkie. the two end up in a sloppy physical fight which culminates in jesse sitting on top of walter, choking him and poised to punch him in the face. he decides not to, and the two collapse into exhaustion beside one another on the floor of the rv. with the fight out of their systems, walt invites jesse into his home to clean up and eat breakfast, finally giving in to splitting up the remaining drug money with him.

this wiki link Appearance: walter is a middle-aged man who stands nearly six-feet tall (5'11"). he has green eyes and brown hair, which is currently shaved down to the skin. he has a mustache, but his face is otherwise mostly clean-shaven. he wears wire-framed glasses. his usual dress is work-casual, consisting mainly of button down shirts, khaki pants, and suede clarks wallabees on his feet. when portraying his business alter-ego, heisenberg, he dons black sunglasses and a black pork-pie hat.
Personality: throughout the series, walter white's personality and entire character undergoes a transformation that is meant to go from "mr. chips to scarface". pre-cancer diagnosis, walt is shown as a passive and timid sort of man who seems to be simply existing in life rather than living it. he is a bit 'nerdy', having a great passion for science, and chemistry in particular. he is undermined by his boss at the carwash and the high school students he teaches at one of the local high schools, but never really defends himself. he is very much a family man, most of his joy stemming from doting on his wife, skyler, and his son, walter jr. as well as his unborn daughter.
after his cancer diagnosis, walter begins to take charge of his life, or what's left of it. he begins to behave more bravely, even to the point of recklessness. his intelligence is highlighted several times as he comes up with plans to help him and jesse overcome various obstacles in their money-making endeavors. walter starts to become an avid liar, and becomes more manipulative as his family pushes back against some of his various lies. he also manipulates jesse into doing his bidding. he is capable of being kind and encouraging, but the opposite is also the same. he seems to know precisely how to use words to cut people down to size as well. as he crawls deeper into the drug world, walter starts to become more self-centered and ruthless. some additional insight into his personality can be found
in this article.
What did they do to end up here?: pre-meditated murder, second-degree murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, drug manufacturing, illegal sale of narcotics/drug distribution, interference with a criminal investigation, destruction of evidence, accessory to grand theft auto, possession of stolen property, illegal use of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, drug possession, and money laundering. there are probably more in there, but that's a pretty good start, haha.
Powers / Abilities: high level of intelligence (particularly when it comes to science and chemistry), able to operate a firearm (not necessarily a sharp-shooter, however), of average strength, fitness, and health (aside from having inoperable lung cancer), able to manipulate people with relative ease, proficient in lying in a convincing manner.
Inventory: his heisenberg disguise (a pair of black sunglasses and a black pork-pie hat), a handful of castor beans, and a gas mask/ventilator.
